Why We Race
For over a decade, Get Fit At School has operated under a singular mission. Help improve education by improving the educator.
Teachers give everything they have to their students — but too often, they sacrifice their own health and wellness in the process. Through our fitness programs, wellness initiatives, and community events like the We ❤️ Teachers 5K, we help educators build energy, focus, and balance — empowering them to thrive inside and outside the classroom.
This race is more than miles; it’s a celebration of teachers, a commitment to their well-being, and a movement to create healthier, happier classrooms for every student.

The race will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at the beautiful Wheaton Regional Park in Silver Spring, MD. This is a fantastic course with some hills but a great location to beat your best time. You don't have to run, you can walk, you can watch, you can cheer, you can sponsor and you can volunteer! However you decide to participate, you're going to have fun! Come celebrate our educators!
Race Day Schedule
8:00-8:55 Registration/Packet Pickup
8:45 Opening Ceremony & Warm up
9:00 Race Start
9:45 Award Ceremony
9:00 -12:00 Race Celebration
Finishers will receive a T-Shirt and Finisher’s medal
Award Categories: Overall Male and Female. Top 3 Male and Female - 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.
